Pakistan captain Babar Azam has revealed that the PCB’s decision to remove the head coach and send seven players home came as a surprise to him. Babar said the changes were “news to me” and that he only found out about the decisions later. Mohammad Rizwan, Imam-ul-Haq and Salman Ali Agha were among the senior players removed from the squad after Pakistan’s heavy defeat at Lord’s. Head coach Sarfaraz Ahmed and bowling coach Umar Gul were also replaced ahead of the final Test at Edgbaston. The dramatic overhaul has raised fresh questions about Pakistan cricket’s decision-making, team management and selection process.
